What You Will Do
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop appropriate anaesthesia plans for patients.
- Administer general, regional, and local anaesthesia safely and effectively.
- Monitor patients vital signs and clinical status before, during, and after anaesthesia.
- Manage pain control and provide post-operative and critical care support as required.
- Respond promptly to anaesthetic complications and medical emergencies.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and theatre staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Supervise and guide theatre staff during procedures ensure smooth collaboration of patient care
- Ensure proper use, handling, and documentation of anaesthetic drugs and equipment.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records.
- Participate in continuous professional development, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)
- Postgraduate qualification in Anaesthesia from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) with a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as an Anaesthetist in a reputable medical institution
- Strong clinical judgment, emergency response, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
