Role Summary
The teacher is responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young children by providing high-quality early childhood education and care in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
The role is divided into several critical areas of care and education:
Child Safeguarding and Welfare:
- Safeguarding children at all times, identifying and reporting concerns of abuse or neglect, and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Teaching, Learning, and Development: Delivering age-appropriate learning experiences following the approved ECDE syllabus, fostering school readiness, and supporting children with special needs.

Health, Hygiene, and Nutrition:
- Maintaining high standards of hygiene (including diaper changing and personal hygiene assistance) and encouraging healthy eating habits.
- Supervision and Daily Care: Supervising children at all times to ensure safety, following daily schedules for play and rest, and providing emotional comfort.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Documenting children’s progress and developmental milestones and sharing observations with parents or guardians.
Community Engagement:
- Building supportive relationships with families and encouraging parent involvement in the child’s learning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: A Certificate in ECDE from a recognized institution is an added advantage.
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar or comparable position is highly desirable.
- Certification: Must have a valid Certificate of Good Conduct and a First Aid certificate (as an added advantage).
- Personal Attributes: Must have a genuine concern for children’s well-being, a warm and positive attitude, and good interpersonal skills.
