NAIROBI, Kenya, Sept 21 – Stablecoin settlement platform Minisend has been named the Official Payment Partner of the Africa Blockchain Festival 2026 as it expands its operations in Kenya.

The festival will be held from October 15 to 17 at the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi, bringing together players in blockchain, digital payments and financial technology.

Minisend is developing a settlement platform that allows users and businesses to receive stablecoins such as USDC and USDT across supported blockchain networks and transfer the funds into local payment systems.

The company said its platform is designed to simplify the process of converting and settling stablecoin payments through local financial channels.

Olubunmi Fabanwo, founder and convenor of the Africa Blockchain Festival, said Kenya’s established digital payments sector provides an opportunity to apply stablecoins to everyday transactions.

“People are already comfortable sending, receiving and paying digitally. What platforms such as Minisend are now exploring is how stablecoins can connect with that existing behaviour,” Fabanwo said.

As the festival’s payment partner, Minisend will demonstrate its stablecoin payment and local settlement technology and participate in discussions on cross-border payments, merchant transactions and financial inclusion.

The company said its technology could allow businesses and individuals receiving stablecoin payments to settle the funds through local payment channels, including mobile money and banks.
