NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 30 – Wara Fragrance has been named East Africa Brand of the Year 2026 at an international summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, giving the fragrance company recognition beyond its regional market.
The award was presented during the 43rd edition of the Cluster of Achievers X World School Summit, which brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs and award recipients from 32 countries.
The ceremony, recognized achievements across different sectors, including entrepreneurship, business development, innovation and leadership.
The recognition places Wara Fragrance among businesses acknowledged at the international gathering, although the organizers did not provide details of the criteria used to select the brand or the assessment process behind the award.
“The recognition in Malaysia gives us an opportunity to expand our visibility beyond the region, build new business relationships and strengthen our presence in the fragrance market,”siad its CEO Abdirahman Hussein.
“Our focus now is on sustaining this momentum through product quality, innovation and customer trust.”
The award comes as consumer brands in East Africa increasingly seek to establish themselves in competitive markets beyond their domestic territories, where brand positioning, product differentiation and consumer confidence are important factors in business growth.
For fragrance businesses, competition is shaped by changing consumer preferences, pricing, product quality and the ability to build customer loyalty in a market with both established international labels and emerging regional players.
International recognition can offer companies additional visibility and potential networking opportunities, but sustaining commercial growth requires translating such exposure into stronger distribution, sales and customer retention.
Wara Fragrance’s recognition also highlights the participation of East African enterprises in international business platforms, although the award alone does not establish the company’s market share, financial performance or geographical reach.
