Hollywood actor and martial arts legend Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86. The family confirmed that he passed away on Thursday morning.

In a statement on Instagram, the family confirmed that he died on Thursday, saying they wanted to keep the matter private.

“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace,” the statement read.

Norris, known for his roles in popular movies and series, including Walker Texas Ranger, celebrated his 86th birthday on March 10.

His death followed a brief hospitalization in Hawaii due to a medical emergency, according to verified reports.

According to TMZ, Norris had been hospitalized on the island of Kauai following a sudden medical emergency.

TMZ reported that the incident occurred within 24 hours prior to his hospitalization. Sources confirmed that Norris had been training and in good spirits shortly before the emergency, with friends noting he was “cracking jokes” on the phone on Wednesday.

The family has not disclosed specific details about the medical issue and has requested privacy.

In their statement, the Norris family highlighted both his public achievements and his personal life:
