Verto has partnered with Visa to launch a multi-currency corporate card engineered to help African businesses reduce foreign exchange costs, optimize international spend management, and scale seamlessly across global markets.

The Verto Card connects directly to a company’s existing Verto wallet balances. Rather than forcing businesses to manually move money between accounts or pay conversion fees before initiating a transaction, the card spends natively from available balances.

Key features and capabilities include:

  • Direct Wallet Access: Businesses can hold and spend from 11 core currencies directly within their Verto accounts.
  • Global Network Reach: Access to over 160 additional currencies via Visa’s international payment network.
  • Zero FX Markups: Elimination of foreign exchange markups on 10 major global currencies, including the US Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR), Japanese Yen (JPY), British Pound (GBP), Swiss Franc (CHF), Canadian Dollar (CAD), Australian Dollar (AUD), New Zealand Dollar (NZD), Norwegian Krone (NOK), and Swedish Krona (SEK).
  • Worldwide Acceptance: Validated across 150 million merchants globally wherever Visa Credit or Debit cards are accepted, including platforms requiring credit-card payment rails.

“African businesses are expanding across borders faster than the financial infrastructure supporting them. Increasingly, the challenge is not market access, but how money moves. Many companies are still losing value through unnecessary FX losses, delayed settlement, and fragmented banking processes that directly affect profitability and growth.” Ola Oyetayo, CEO and Co-founder of Verto

By integrating Visa’s global scale with Verto’s multi-currency architecture, the partnership provides corporate treasurers with real-time spend visibility, instant card issuance, and custom corporate controls to secure operational spending.

“Managing multiple currencies should not be a barrier to growth for businesses looking to scale internationally. Our partnership with Verto helps simplify how businesses pay suppliers, manage expenses, and transact internationally, while providing the security and global acceptance they expect from Visa.” Shahebaz Khan, SVP and Head of Commercial & Money Movement at Visa
