Nairobi County Head of Citizen Engagement and Customer Service Geoffrey Mosiria has raised concerns about alleged plans to remove him from office, claiming he faces intimidation and attempts to damage his reputation.
In a statement on October 21, Geoffrey Mosiria said he was aware of previous legal attempts to challenge his position in Nairobi County Government.
He maintained that he respected the courts and the rule of law, adding that he would defend himself through lawful means against allegations he considers false or malicious.
“I am aware of previous attempts to challenge my position through legal proceedings. I respect the courts and the rule of law, and I will continue to defend myself through lawful means against any false or malicious allegations,” he said.
Previously, Mosiria served as Chief Officer in the Environment Department before being moved to the Citizen Engagement and Customer Service docket.
Geoffrey Mosiria Defends His Position in the Nairobi County Government
The county official also responded to allegations circulating in a video claiming that, during his tenure as Chief Officer in the Health Department, he opened chemists outside hospital entrances and diverted medicines meant for county hospitals to pharmacies allegedly belonging to him.
Mosiria dismissed the claims, saying he served diligently and ensured medicines reached all 124 county health facilities.
He said area Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), Community Health Promoters (CHPs), chiefs, and community leaders accompanied the deliveries to ensure the supplies reached the intended facilities.
Mosiria further maintained that he could not deliberately divert medicines meant for sick patients for personal gain, describing public resources as a trust that leaders and public servants must protect.
He challenged anyone with credible evidence against him to present it through the proper legal channels, saying he would not be intimidated by allegations that could be tested through evidence and due process.
Plot to Attack Him
Additionally, Mosiria claimed he had received information about alleged plans to attack him, with goons being mobilized to harm him. He also alleged plans to implicate him in a criminal case to undermine his reputation and career.
He said he could not independently verify who, if anyone, was behind the alleged plans, but called for his safety to be respected and for any threats to be investigated.
Mosiria warned that violence and intimidation had no place in public leadership, arguing that threats against public servants could undermine their ability to serve residents and demand accountability.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for Nairobi residents, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds, saying he would continue to push for quality services and responsible leadership.
Bid For Governorship
Mosiria’s concerns follow his declaration of intent to vie for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a church service at Jesus Is Alive Ministries on October 11, Mosiria pledged to transform the city
“I have done a lot of work in Nairobi. I have worked in health, where I ensured that we have the first ICU and medication in Nairobi that is working until today,” Mosiria said.
Mosiria said his tenure in the Environment Department focused on improving Nairobi’s cleanliness before he was reassigned to the customer service docket.
He said his current position put him in contact with vulnerable women and children whose concerns he sought to address, focusing on improving their welfare.
The county official said his experience across different departments had prepared him for county leadership, and he expressed confidence that, if elected governor, he could deliver more for Nairobi residents.
