People are constantly worried at the poor state of hygienic in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) .
“The garbage is everywhere on the streets and pavements. The county should employ more sweepers to clean on weekends,” said Henry Wanjohi, a trade in Nairobi.
Residents have reported large heaps of garbage in various streets, including at the intersection of Mfangano Street and Hakati Road on weekends and Mondays.
The waste often spills onto the roads and pavements.
“The Nairobi County government need to engage hygiene officers and sweepers to monitor and clean the capital,” said Kenneth Oluoch, a resident of Nairobi.
Oluoch added that nobody wants to operate a business next to rotting garbage .
The bad smell can easily drive customers away, while rodents , flies and pests can be attracted to food and other waste.
