‎County champions from eight counties in the Eastern Region have been crowned after an action-packed weekend of Safaricom Chapa Dimba County finals, earning an opportunity to compete for regional honours in Embu next month. ‎
The champions from Isiolo, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Machakos, Kitui, Makueni and Marsabit will converge in Embu for the Eastern Region finals scheduled for October 2nd and 3rd, 2026.

The county champions in both the boys’ and girls’ categories each received Sh75,000, while runners-up received Sh30,000, alongside individual awards.

In Tharaka Nithi, Kajiunduthi High were crowned boys’ champions, while Mugona Girls emerged victorious in the girls’ category. ‎In Meru, Makinduri Rockstars won the boys’ title, with Akuune Queens taking the girls’ crown.

In Embu, Black Cats Football Academy clinched the boys’ title after thrashing Ishiara Bright Academy 8-1 in the final, while Royal Queens Academy were crowned girls’ champions following a 7-0 victory over Ishiara Bright Starlets.

In Machakos, Golden Football Academy won the boys’ title after defeating Masii Boys 4-1 on penalties following a goalless draw in regulation time. MCF Starlets claimed the girls’ title after edging Kibauni Ladies 1-0.

In Kitui, SMPI Academy emerged boys’ champions after defeating Mwingi Junior Academy 3-0 in the finals, while Syomunyu Queens secured the girls’ title with a 3-0 victory over ISAA Queens FC.

In Isiolo, MAFA FC were crowned boys’ champions, while Bridge Starlets won the girls’ category. ‎In Marsabit, Abdary FC claimed the boys’ title, while Dakabaricha Girls emerged champions in the girls’ category. ‎

AIC Sultan were crowned girls’ champions in Makueni. ‎ The county finals provided a platform for young footballers to showcase their talent and compete for an opportunity to represent their counties at the regional level.

FKF National Coordinator Oliver Kiptoo congratulated the champions and participating teams, saying the competition had demonstrated the depth of football talent across the region.

“Congratulations to all the county champions and every team that participated in the Eastern Region County finals. The level of competition and talent witnessed across the counties has been encouraging,” said Mr Kiptoo.

He added that the tournament was providing young footballers with an opportunity to showcase their abilities and compete at a higher level.
