Kenyatta University student charged over Sh140,000 iPhone 17 robbery at Roysambu hostel
The case took a different turn as the three accused persons acknowledged handling the stolen phone while contesting the circumstances under which it was allegedly obtained.
A Kenyatta University student has been charged alongside two men over the alleged violent robbery of an iPhone 17 worth Sh140,000 at a private hostel in Roysambu, Nairobi.
Emma Njeri Mburu appeared in court alongside Alpha Bosire Ibrahim and Felix Karioki Juma, where they faced charges relating to the robbery at Tsavo Royal Suburbs on October 20, 2026.
The prosecution alleged that the three jointly robbed Nathan Matombi Lutula of his iPhone 17, valued at Sh140,000, during the incident.
However, the accused persons denied the robbery with violence charge, disputing allegations that they used force to obtain the phone.
In a separate count, Alpha was charged with handling stolen property. He pleaded guilty to the alternative charge, admitting to handling the phone but denying involvement in the alleged violent robbery.
