The suspects were arrested on Sunday after attempting to evade arrest, raising further suspicion among police officers.

"The duo attempted to evade arrest, prompting a swift pursuit by the officers, who cornered and apprehended them," the National Police Service (NPS) said.

A further search was conducted leading to recovery of stolen mobile phones alongside other crude weapons believed to be used in their criminal activities.

The suspects are in police custody pending their arraignment, while the crude weapons are being held as evidence.
