Musician Bahati has left unchanged the KSh1 million charge he and Diana Marua attached to invitations for their wedding, which is scheduled for November 6, 2026.
In a social media post, Bahati said the day was intended for those he described as ballers, and appeared to mock anyone still expecting the price to come down. He wrote in Kiswahili asking whether there was still someone waiting for the fee to drop before taking up an invitation.
The position restates the arrangement the couple announced on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, when they said attendance would be capped at 100 people and each guest would be required to pay KSh1 million to secure an invitation. The announcement came as Bahati and Diana marked ten years together.
Bahati said at the time that he had decided to formalise the union after a decade of love, adding that the 100-person limit was deliberate and that anyone wishing to attend would have to pay the fee.
Diana confirmed the date in her own statement and urged those interested to call and buy an invitation.
The couple’s plan has drawn online discussion, mainly over the cost of attending the ceremony, and the fee has remained a talking point among Kenyans since the announcement.
Bahati has previously spoken about holding an extravagant wedding, and has said Diana’s gown could cost KSh5 million.
The wedding date is November 6, 2026. The statements issued by the couple have not named the venue or given other logistical details, and it is not clear from the available information whether any invitations have been sold or how the KSh1 million is being collected.
