Prestige Shuttle is the premium intercity shuttle brand of Mololine Services Limited, one of Kenya’s established passenger transport and logistics companies.
Mololine Services was founded in 1994, began operations in 1995, and is headquartered in Nakuru.
Prestige’s maiden trip took place on December 18, 2003, before the service was formally developed as Mololine’s premium shuttle offering in 2004.
It launched to offer faster, more structured, and more comfortable travel on major corridors, especially between Nairobi and towns in the Rift Valley and Western Kenya.
Its first route connected Nairobi and Kisumu, one of the country’s busiest transport corridors.
The brand was designed to complement Mololine’s existing transport services by offering modern passenger vans with fewer occupants than conventional public service vehicles, providing additional space and a more structured travel experience.
Prestige Shuttle Routes and Service Network
Prestige Shuttle operates a scheduled intercity network centered on Nairobi, with daily services to major towns in the Rift Valley and Western Kenya under the Mololine Services Limited group.
Core routes
The company lists the following Nairobi-based routes as daily services:
- Nairobi → Kisumu
- Nairobi → Eldoret
- Nairobi → Bungoma
- Nairobi → Kakamega
- Nairobi → Kericho
- Nairobi → Nakuru (including direct services)
- Nairobi → Kitale and other towns on the Mololine network.
Stages and Booking Offices
Prestige Shuttle operates from fixed stages and branded booking offices in key towns along its network.
In Nairobi, the main stage is along Tsavo Road and Tsavo Lane near Latema Road, where it shares facilities with other Mololine operations.
In Eldoret, the company runs a dedicated booking office in the town center that handles ticketing, travel inquiries and parcel services.
In other towns such as Nakuru, Kisumu, Kericho, Bungoma, Kakamega and Kitale, Mololine and Prestige desks are located at or near the main bus parks, providing counter booking and parcel drop-off and collection points.
On this route network, Prestige Shuttle runs scheduled passenger shuttles, parcel and goods services, and charter and group trips.
The passenger product consists mainly of 11–14-seater vans that make multiple daily trips on major corridors, offering fewer seats per vehicle than standard PSVs and faster door-to-door travel.
Charter and group trips use shuttles and coaches from the wider Mololine fleet to provide custom transport for corporate clients, events and groups across the same geographic network.
Safety, Comfort and Reliability
Prestige built its identity around five service values: safety, security, punctuality, comfort and reliability.
These values were reflected in the company’s use of relatively low-capacity vehicles, organized boarding procedures, and customer-service staff trained to deal with passengers more professionally.
The company also became known for its female staff members, particularly employees associated with the brand’s distinctive red uniforms.
Prestige presents this as part of its effort to raise standards of professionalism and customer care in a transport industry traditionally dominated by men.
The network also benefits from Mololine’s wider transport presence.
Mololine operates passenger transport, parcel delivery, car hire, and insurance services, with routes covering towns such as Nyahururu, Kabarnet, Kisii, Kapsabet, Busia, Ongata Rongai, and Loitokitok.
Regulatory and Legal Challenges
Like many operators in Kenya’s public transport sector, Prestige Shuttle has faced regulatory scrutiny from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), the agency responsible for road transport oversight and safety enforcement.
One of the most notable cases emerged in 2020 when Express Prestige Shuttle Ltd challenged an NTSA decision to suspend the operation of its fleet following an alleged reckless driving incident involving one of its vehicles.
More recently, in December 2025, NTSA suspended the licenses of six drivers attached to Moline Prestige Services Shuttle Limited following a compliance assessment that identified safety violations among several PSV operators.
The affected drivers were ordered to undergo mandatory re-testing before returning to service. NTSA also directed the affected operators to conduct road-safety training and present selected vehicles for inspection.
