A political confrontation has emerged in Nyandarua after Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro said he received a threatening message from Kinangop MP Kwenya Thuku ahead of a visit to the county.
In a statement shared on September 20, 2026, Nyoro said Thuku threatened him over the planned visit, but he proceeded with the program as scheduled at ACK St. Paul’s Church, Nyandarua.
Ndindi Nyoro said Thuku later arrived at the church shortly before the end of the service, where he claimed he had come to welcome the visitors.
“Kwenya Thuku, MP for Kinangop, sent me threats yesterday regarding our Visit to Nyandarua County. I told him our plans would proceed as planned.
He then stormed the church a few minutes before the end of the service, where he pretended to “have come to welcome” the people,” Ndindi Nyoro said.
Ndindi Nyoro Shares Message From Kwenya Thuku
According to Ndindi Nyoro, an attempt to disrupt a political rally in Engineer also failed, and he thanked residents of Engineer and Kinangop for what he described as their response to the disruption.
“His plans to disrupt our rally at Engineer also did not materialize. I thank the great People of Engineer and Kinangop for repulsing his nonsense.”
He called for political activities to be conducted without violence or intimidation.
The message shared by Ndindi Nyoro said the sender considered his arrival at their home without prior notice disrespectful and accused him of a lack of courtesy.
It described the alleged conduct as disrespectful and questioned the recipient’s character.
MP Kwenya Thuku, the alleged sender, also compared the recipient to their “bosom friend” before saying they would reserve judgment on the recipient’s character.
The message ended by telling the recipient to proceed as they wished.
“If you think you can come to my home at any time without even giving me the courtesy of a notice, then you have lost your conscience, just like your bosom friend. That level of disrespect is unnecessary. I am going to reserve judgment on your character, but anyway, satisfy your heart,” it read.
Nyoro Pushes Economic Recovery Agenda in Nyandarua
Separately, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro said he had a “fantastic afternoon” during a People’s Tour in Engineer Town, Kinangop Constituency, Nyandarua County.
Nyoro said economic recovery should remain a key agenda, with job creation through manufacturing, hospitality, tourism, and other sectors.
He also called for greater scrutiny of the G-G Fuel scheme, alleging it involves patronage and that leaders receive more than KSh3.5 billion every month directly from Kenyans’ pockets.
“Fantastic afternoon at Engineer Town, Kinangop Constituency in Nyandarua County during the People’s Tour. Economic recovery must be our key agenda. Creating Jobs through Manufacturing, Hospitality & tourism, and other sectors. We also called for the veil on the G-G Fuel scheme to be removed. This is pure patronage where leaders are taking off with over Ksh 3.5 Bn every Month directly from the pockets of Kenyans,” he said.
Nyoro thanked residents of Engineer Town for their support during the tour and said the party should remain a “People’s Party.”
