The rehearsals are intended to familiarise Grade 6 and Grade 9 candidates with examination procedures ahead of the main assessments, scheduled from Monday
Rehearsals for the 2026 Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) are set to begin as more than 2.4 million learners prepare for the national assessments next week.
According to assessment guidelines, examination centre managers are required to monitor candidates’ attendance through the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) CP2 portal, starting with the rehearsal exercise.
Storage containers holding assessment materials are expected to open daily at 6am to facilitate the collection and distribution of examination materials to designated centres.
The exercise marks the final stage of preparations before learners sit the assessments across the country.
Lecturers’ strike to resume over CBA dispute

The unions want Parliament to help secure funding for the agreement and address outstanding concerns affecting university employees.
The strike started on October 2 after negotiations collapsed, disrupting teaching and leaving students uncertain about examinations and the completion of their studies.
The unions have maintained that they will not resume work until their concerns are addressed and an agreement reached.
