Mwaipaya was reportedly seized at around 2:00 pm on Sunday while travelling in a taxi to visit friends.

Linda Mwananchi Movement has demanded the immediate disclosure of Tanzanian opposition activist Twaha Mwaipaya’s whereabouts and an independent investigation into his reported abduction in Kamulu, Machakos County, amid fears he could be forcibly returned to Tanzania.

The organisations have appealed to members of the public to share any information that could help trace the activist as pressure mounts on Kenyan authorities to establish what happened and guarantee his safety.
