President William Ruto on Tuesday, October 20, hosted Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) Executive Secretary Workneh Gebeyehu at his Koilel farm in Uasin Gishu county.
The two leaders toured the President’s dairy farm following the Mashujaa Day celebrations, during which Kenya honours individuals who have contributed to the country’s liberation and development.

The visit offered Abiy and Gebeyehu an opportunity to tour the farm, which is among President Ruto’s agricultural investments in the North Rift region.
Ruto has maintained an interest in agriculture, particularly dairy farming, an important economic activity in Uasin Gishu and neighbouring counties.
The region is one of Kenya’s key agricultural production zones, with dairy farming supporting thousands of households through milk production, processing and related businesses.
The visit came as Kenya and Ethiopia continue to engage on bilateral relations and regional cooperation, with both countries playing significant roles in the Horn of Africa.
