MultiChoice unveils new packages in major pricing overhaul
Description (show more)
MultiChoice Group has unveiled new product prices, marking a significant update in the company’s pricing model. The new prices will see Kenyans pay between 750 shillings and 7,300 shillings for different packages. The product review has been pegged on customer trends, seeking to offer customers more control and accessible content and improve value across its product line. The new packages are set to take effect on November 5, 2026. This is the most significant product overhaul in its three decades of operations in Kenya, aimed at attracting price-sensitive consumers and reversing subscriber losses following years of price increases. The company has faced mounting pressure on its pay-TV business from declining subscriptions, household budget constraints and competition from online streaming platforms and video-on-demand services. The overhaul follows the acquisition of MultiChoice by French media group Canal+, which was concluded in July 2026.
