Building an institution is one thing, building credibility is another. One of the biggest challenges KIBCO faced in its early years is there was no recognized counseling curriculum framework in Kenya. Instead of waiting for the system to change, Professor Catherine Gachutha established KIBCO and helped build the structure themselves. That meant: – Working with the Ministry of Education – Developing accredited curriculum – Raising funds to make it possible – And laying foundations for future professionals Sometimes leadership isn’t about fitting into systems, it’s about creating the standards that didn’t exist before.
