When cancer came for my child At 15, Lillian Awino had just stepped into one of Nakuru’s best performing public secondary schools full of dreams and aspirations, but a persistent stomach ache just before second term began quickly turned her world and that of her family upside down. Lillian was diagnosed with stage three of a type of soft tissue cancer that had attacked her pelvic spreading to the cervix. She died two months into treatment.
