Born and raised in Germany, Weyni Tesfai always felt like an outsider in the only home she’d ever known. Despite speaking the language, following the rules, and building a life there, Germany gave her fear, alienation, and the constant reminder that she did not belong. The racism she faced wasn’t just individual, it was systemic, cultural, and spiritual. But Africa changed everything. In this raw and deeply personal reflection, Weyni shares why she left Europe for Africa, not just as a relocation, but as an act of survival, healing, and liberation. Through her lens as a cultural anthropologist, she unpacks the trauma of Black existence in white spaces, and the decolonial journey that led her back to the continent. Africa, with all its complexity, gave her something Europe never could: freedom, belonging, and the right to exist without explanation. Now, Weyni is on a mission to help Black people especially in Diaspora to decolonize their minds and see that the chains we carry are not just physical or political, but deeply psychological. This isn’t just her story; it’s a call to others to wake up, rise, and reclaim what was always ours. #LNN #LNS Support Our Work MPESA: +254 726 916 908 Or through PayBill: 4096889 Account Name: LNN Thank You
