Nominated Senator Miraj Abdillahi calls for youth inclusion in peacebuilding and crisis response

Nominated Senator Miraj Abdillahi has called upon parliaments worldwide to place young people at the centre of peacebuilding, crisis response and post-conflict recovery. Speaking as a panellist at the 12th Inter-Parliamentary Union Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, Senator Miraj emphasised that conflicts and humanitarian crises disproportionately affect children and young people—disrupting their education, exposing them to exploitation and leaving lasting physical and psychological wounds.
