Harambee Starlets face Seychelles in Olympic qualifier
Description (show more)
The national women’s football team, the Harambee Starlets, will take on Seychelles tomorrow in the first round of the 2028 Africa Olympic Games qualifiers. This is an away match for Kenya, but Seychelles are hosting the fixture at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi. This will be the first assignment for new head coach Godfrey Solo Oduor, who was appointed last week to take over from Beldin Odemba, who stepped down. Coach Oduor has 25 players to choose from for the two matches, which will be played within a week at the same venue. The team has welcomed back defender Janet Mumo and midfielders Corazon Aquino and Sheryl Angach, who had been absent for various reasons. The match, which was initially scheduled for a 4pm kick-off, will now start at 3pm. Coach Solo says he will use different players for the two matches.
