Kenya Baseball5 juniors target podium finish at Dakar Youth Olympics

The Baseball5 juniors will be the first Kenya team to head to Dakar, Senegal, for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, which will run from 30th October to 3rd November. Baseball5 is one of the fastest-growing sports in Kenya, and hopes are high that Kenya will finish on the podium given its good ranking in the sport. The journey has been long and rough, with the team at times struggling to find suitable training times. The team’s preparations have focused mainly on building teamwork, strengthening cooperation and ensuring the players are ready to face the challenges of international competition. Success in Dakar will play a key role as the federation pushes to introduce the sport in schools, where it hopes to tap raw talent and develop it as the players grow in the sport. Kenya will be the only African team in Baseball5 in Dakar.
