Mobile, broadband subscriptions rise amid growing demand for digital services

The last quarter of the 2025/26 financial year recorded growth in mobile cellular, mobile money and mobile broadband subscriptions, alongside increased smartphone penetration. The quarter also saw a continued shift towards internet-based communication and digital content, including over-the-top and video-on-demand services, driving demand for broadband connectivity and active bandwidth capacity. The growth also led to an increase in fixed internet subscriptions, pointing to sustained demand for digital connectivity and services across the country. Jimmy Mbogoh tells us more.
