"She Took My Eye, Got 10 Years… Now She's Free" – Lindsay Soila's Story | Iko Nini
Description (show more)
👁️ On 9 September 2023, Lindsay Soila was sitting in her boyfriend's car in Lang'ata when a woman she had seen only once before started smashing the window with stones. Minutes later a stone hit her eye. She lost the sight in her left eye permanently. The woman was convicted of grievous harm and sentenced to 10 years. Her appeal was dismissed. Then came phone calls from family and "representatives", talk of a presidential pardon, an offer of "two million before Monday", a Miss Lang'ata Prison crown, and on 7 October 2026 a sentence review that released her on probation. Lindsay says she was never consulted. This is Lindsay's story in her own words: the night of the attack, losing an eye at 3 hospitals in one night, learning to walk again without depth perception, the court case, the messages from that night, and why she's asking the ODPP to look into how the sentence was reduced. We also read the other side's public post on air.
