Internal auditors urged to strengthen oversight of public funds

Internal auditors have been urged to strengthen their independence and tighten oversight of public resources to help detect irregularities and curb misuse of public funds. The call was made during the 23rd Internal Audit Annual Seminar in Mombasa, where Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o also pushed for greater use of technology in audit processes. Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka called for more capacity building to improve accountability and service delivery.
