Calls made for inclusion and adoption of a new competency model in higher learning institutions

Education stakeholders are pushing for the inclusion and adoption of a new Competency Transformation Model in higher learning institutions. The model will be designed to accommodate the first cohort of the Competency Based Education expected to be enrolled in 2029.The group led by KCA university vice chancellor Prof Isaiah Wakindiki says that the transformation model captures ten dimensions ranging from an evidence-based needs assessment to the retraining of the faculty’s lecturers.
