Ruku orders 84 officials on leave over alleged KSh 6.2 billion payroll fraud

The Ministry of Public Service has directed principal secretaries and accounting officers in the Kenya Prisons Service, Kenya Police Service and the Ministry of Health to send 84 human resources officials on leave over their alleged involvement in the KSh 6.2 billion payroll fraud currently under investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations. Public Service, Human Capital Development and Special Programmes Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku says preliminary investigations have confirmed payroll irregularities in three departments, with arrests expected soon.
