CS Oparanya dismisses Sifuna’s new political party

Cooperatives and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary Wycliffe Oparanya has dismissed the newly launched Linda Mwananchi Movement Party as a village outfit, questioning its capacity to field a credible presidential candidate. Speaking during the Kirdam Half Marathon in Kabarnet, Baringo County, Oparanya argued that no one could rise to the presidency through what he described as a village party, remarks seemingly directed at the movement’s leader, Edwin Sifuna. Oparanya also reaffirmed ODM’s support for President William Ruto, expressing confidence that the party would be part of the next government after the 2027 General Election.
