Ending livestock diseases

The European Union has pledged 7.4 billion shillings to accelerate the eradication of goat plague, a deadly livestock disease affecting sheep and goats across Africa. The director for the Interafrican Bureau for Animal Resources, Dr Huyam Salih says the funding must translate into stronger veterinary services, reliable vaccine supplies, improved surveillance and coordinated action across borders.
