I Exposed My Body for Money and Got Trapped
Description (show more)
Nancy Kathure was born in Meru, a place known for its rolling hills and resilient people. Her childhood, however, was far from easy. Raised by a single mother, Nancy’s early years were marked by both love and struggle. Her mother worked tirelessly to provide for her, but when the opportunity came to travel to Saudi Arabia for employment, she made the difficult decision to leave Nancy in the care of relatives. Life without her mother’s presence was harsh. The warmth and protection she had once known faded, replaced by the cold reality of neglect. Whenever Nancy sought help, especially from men, she was met with demands for favors in return. What should have been simple acts of kindness became transactions, and this constant exploitation weighed heavily on her young shoulders. As time passed, Nancy’s resilience was tested further. With little support and no stable foundation, she was introduced by a friend to life on the streets of Nairobi. It was there that she began to earn money in ways she had never imagined. Each encounter came with its own demands, each man with his own conditions. Nancy learned quickly that survival meant navigating a world where her dignity was constantly challenged.
