Ruto proposes PAYE tax exemption for Kenyans earning KSh 32,333 and below
Description (show more)
President William Ruto has proposed exempting Kenyans earning KSh 32,333 per month or less from Pay As You Earn tax, in a move he says will put more money in citizens’ pockets. Speaking during this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations in Uasin Gishu County, Ruto also announced plans to scrap the 25 per cent import duty on mobile phones to ease the cost of living. As Emmanuel Too reports, the President says the Treasury Cabinet Secretary will present the proposals to Parliament next week.
