Kilifi issues 21-day notice for disposal of unclaimed Shakahola bodies

The Kilifi County Government has issued a 21-day notice to dispose of more than 400 unclaimed bodies recovered following the Shakahola massacre by December this year, urging relatives to collect them before the deadline. Speaking during an inspection tour of Malindi Sub-County Hospital as part of the Senate Mashinani programme, senators called for increased public sensitisation before the bodies are finally laid to rest. The county government says the DNA sampling and identification process has been completed, paving the way for the interment of the unclaimed bodies.
