CRA proposes 457.28 billion shillings for counties in 2027/28

The Commission on Revenue Allocation has pitched a 457.28 billion shillings slice of national revenue for county governments for the 2027/28 financial year. The new proposal, marks an upward adjustment of over 29 billion shillings from the current financial year's allocation. CRA Chairperson Mary Wanyonyi Chebukati notes the increase aims to cushion healthcare, accommodate mandatory wage adjustments, and sustain service delivery across all forty-seven devolved units.
