Description (show more)
Police earlier today disrupted a planned protest against the arrest and detention of Ugandan opposition figure Kizza Besigye. Four activists were arrested on Kimathi Street as they attempted to march to Harambee Avenue, targeting the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The activists said they wanted to highlight the plight of Besigye, whose health they claim is deteriorating while in detention. They also accused the Kenyan government of complicity in the case.
