Kenya receives 11 tonnes of medical supplies from India amid Ebola concerns

Description (show more)

Kenya has received 11 tonnes of medical supplies and specialised equipment from India to strengthen its preparedness for Ebola and other public health emergencies. The donation comes as the number of confirmed Bundibugyo Ebola cases in the country rose to eight as of Sunday, with all patients in isolation or quarantine and no community transmission reported so far. The consignment includes protective gear, respirators, laboratory safety equipment and cold-chain refrigerators to enhance infection prevention and the safe handling of medical supplies. The government has sought to reassure the public about the country’s Ebola situation while urging heightened vigilance and prompt reporting of suspected cases.
