Eighteen teams confirmed for 2026 Safari Sevens

Eighteen teams have been confirmed for the 2026 Safari Sevens rugby tournament, set to be held at the Nyayo National Stadium in mid-October. The 12 men’s teams have been divided into three pools, while the six women’s teams will compete in a round-robin tournament. RUN VCR Kenya will field two teams in the men’s competition and three in the women’s event. Shujaa will be joined by Morans, who have been drawn in Pool C alongside Zimbabwe, JEL Squad 7s and Wonder 7s. Morans head into the tournament on the back of an impressive weekend in Mauritius, where they won the Mauritius Sevens. They beat South Africa in the semi-finals before edging Madagascar 15-12 in the final. In the women’s competition, the Kenya Lionesses will be joined by the Junior Lionesses and Kenya Cubs. They will face Uganda, Tunisia and Tuks Women from South Africa, who replaced Costa Blanca Barbarians.
