Election stakeholders warn of potential violence ahead of 2027 polls
Description (show more)
Tonight, election stakeholders are raising the alarm over potential violence in the period leading up to the August 2027 general elections. The stakeholders say the political environment currently prevailing in the country points to acts of violence and deployment of goons during the early campaign period. The police are, however, assuring the country of peace and safety during the electioneering period. Stakeholder concerns heighten as political parties participating in next year's general election signed the Political Decency and Peace Charter. Brenda Wanga reports.
