Ruto defends Sh.2 trillion Lamu refinery project
Description (show more)
President William Ruto has defended the construction of the Sh.2 trillion East African Oil Refinery project in Lamu, saying it will reduce the cost of fuel in the country and create more than 60,000 jobs for Kenyans. Speaking in Lunga Lunga, Kwale County, President Ruto criticised opposition leaders who have opposed the project, claiming some had been sponsored to oppose a project they did not understand. President Ruto also issued more than 26,000 title deeds to thousands of squatters in the county. The move is part of a government plan to issue 500,000 land documents to residents of the Coast region by the end of this year.
