Civil society warns of shrinking democratic space ahead of 2027 polls

The civil society sector has warned that Kenya’s democratic space is rapidly shrinking, citing rising cases of political violence, police brutality and attacks on human rights defenders. The sector says the developments threaten the country’s democratic gains ahead of the 2027 General Election.
