Linda Mwananchi leaders teargassed in Kitale after rally following Ruto’s visit

Leaders from the Linda Mwananchi movement were this evening teargassed in Kitale town shortly after addressing a rally that was held soon after the President had addressed another one at the same spot. As Melita Ole Tenges reports, the leaders had been denied the opportunity to address mourners at the funeral of former VIP Protection Unit commander Lazarus Opicho in Sirende, Trans Nzoia County. The move came after earlier speakers used their tributes to launch scathing attacks on President William Ruto.
