Description (show more)
Journalists have been urged to remain independent and committed to the truth amid political pressure and concerns about their safety as the country inches closer to the 2027 general elections. Kenya Editors Guild President Zubeida Kananu, while speaking during the launch of the 2026 annual editors' convention in Nairobi, called on scribes to leverage their agenda-setting role to champion peaceful elections. The Guild has promised to conduct an election coverage workshop in Mombasa during its 9th convention, expected to take place between the 25th and 29th of this month.
