The Ministry of Health has confirmed 4 new cases of Ebola, bringing the case load to 7 as at Saturday evening. The four include a close relative of the first patient who succumbed to the deadly virus on 5th October 2026 and three healthcare workers who attended to him. The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the four have been in quarantine, limiting the risk of community transmission. In the meantime, the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has accused the Ministry of Health of excluding doctors from the national Ebola preparedness and response initiative. Speaking after a union meeting in Naivasha, Secretary General Dr. Davji Atellah said KMPDU members, who are frontline in hospitals and isolation units, have not been involved in response planning.
