Equity CEO James Mwangi joins global development commission

Equity Group CEO Dr. James Mwangi has been appointed to a 20-member international commission tasked with reshaping economic cooperation between developed and developing countries. Dr. James Mwangi is the only African business leader on the South-North Commission on Development, established by the German government. He joins global figures including World Bank President Ajay Banga and World Trade Organization Director-General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The commission will explore new approaches to development financing, trade and investment, with a focus on moving beyond traditional aid. Its first meeting is scheduled for October 16 in Bangkok, with final recommendations expected in 2028.
