Kisumu cancer survivors call for increased SHA coverage to ease treatment costs and reduce deaths
Description (show more)
Cancer survivors in Kisumu have called for increased allocation of packages to cancer patients under the Social Health Authority to reduce mortalities as a result of the disease. Speaking in Kisumu, the survivors also sought an audience with the county government to consolidate cancer treatment and management protocols to ease the financial burden and cut the time taken before accessing care. And as Laura Otieno reports, the call comes on the backdrop of Cancer Awareness Month as the country steps up efforts to eradicate breast cancer.
