Charles Thuo’s story cuts across worlds that rarely meet. Born and raised in Kenya, he moved to the United States at 20 and pursued engineering, later working at companies like Boeing and Cessna. He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army National Guard as a combat engineer. From the outside, it looked like the perfect American success story. Then he walked away from it. Charles left corporate aerospace and entered the trucking industry in Oklahoma, moving goods across America and learning how freight, transport, and logistics quietly shape economies. Today, he runs Apex Loads, a company focused on helping Africa’s logistics sector connect transporters, freight forwarders, and brokers through technology and market access.
