A section of UDA MPs dismiss the coronation of DP Kindiki as Mt. Kenya region spokesperson

A section of United Democratic Alliance MPs have dismissed Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki’s coronation as the mt.kenya region's spokesman. The legislators, led by Ndia MP George Kariuki, say the ceremony held in Kiambu County a week ago did not involve all elders, and lacked the community’s blessing. They maintain that the leadership mantle remains with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who assumed the role in 2011. Speaking during a meeting with Kiama Kiama elders in Juja on Saturday, the MPs claimed the process was secretly hatched and hastily executed, arguing that installing a community kingpin requires consultation with elders from across the Gema community.
