Tobacco Amendment Bill I Health committee ends public participation exercise in Kisumu and Meru
Description (show more)
Stakeholders in the tobacco value chain from Kisumu and Meru counties have called for a clear differentiation between combustible and non-combustible tobacco products, arguing that a blanket restriction could limit the range of legally available products. The stakeholders have also questioned the rationale behind the age increase from 18 to 21 years for legal tobacco consumption. The sentiments were registered during separate public participation exercises by the National Assembly's committee on Health.
