Africans Accuse Trump Of Racism After Travel Ban. Could This Be An Opportunity To Build Africa? LNN
Description (show more)
Trump’s travel ban is more than a political headline , it’s a mirror. A painful, clear reflection of how Africa is still perceived globally: weak, unstable, expendable. Five of the seven countries affected are African. And while many are quick to shout racism and rightly so, we must also ask: why is it always us? Why are we always vulnerable to decisions made in rooms we’re never invited into? This is not just America rejecting Africans. This is the world reminding us that we have failed to build systems that protect us. We depend on diaspora dollars more than we depend on ourselves. We export talent, import food, and outsource everything from healthcare to higher education and then act surprised when our people are denied entry into other nations. We say we are proud Africans, yet too many of our leaders seek medical care in Europe. Our youth dream of fleeing, not fixing. Our best minds serve foreign economies while our own systems crumble. We cannot keep blaming the world for treating us the way we’ve allowed ourselves to be treated. This is the moment to confront the hard truths: • Diaspora is not a sustainable backup plan. • Remittances are not development. • Global sympathy will not build our roads, feed our children, or protect our borders. Until we create strong institutions, fearless leadership, and systems that work ,we will always be at the mercy of foreign policies we cannot control. Africa must wake up. Not with slogans, but with systems. Not with rage, but with reinvention. Because the ban is not just on our passports ,it’s on our potential. This episode is not just a conversation ,it’s a call to build. To restructure. To rise. #LNN #LNS Support Our Work MPESA: +254 726 916 908 Or through PayBill: 4096889 Account Name: LNN Thank You
